Margaret Guidarelli CIH, ROH, MSEE
Owner & Co-Founder
Margaret founded Hygieneering in 1987 after working in the petroleum, oil and gas industry for eight years and obtaining her Masters of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering from IIT in Chicago. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University (ISU) in Environmental Health with a minor in Biology. She also earned the credentials of Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) from the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygiene.
Margaret remains active in the firm’s operations to ensure the highest caliber Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) services are delivered to Hygieneering’s clients in the manufacturing, healthcare, energy, academic, real estate and construction sectors.
Kevin M. Konkey, CSP, CIT, CHMM
President
Kevin Konkey has over 25 years of experience in the environmental health and safety consulting field. He received his bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) through the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM). He also has obtained professional certificates in Safety Management, Executive Safety Management, and Global Safety Management through the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).

Mr. Konkey is an active member of multiple associations which include the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates (ASA), the Contractors Association of Will & Grundy Counties (CAWGC), Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA), Refrigeration Engineers & Technician Association (RETA), the Midwest Food Products Association (MWFPA), and the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO).

Mr. Konkey has extensive experience in the recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational health, safety and environmental hazards, auditing, training, and written program/procedure development. He has specific expertise in emergency response and evaluating, developing, and implementing OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plans (RMP).
Matt Guidarelli
Vice President, Strategies
Mr. Matt Guidarelli has been building business relationships for Hygieneering, Inc. since 1987. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University in 1989. His responsibilities include strategic business development, marketing, sales, client education and relationship building for our environmental, safety and emergency response services. Matt has also been instrumental in developing Environmental Construction Services that incorporate our Environmental Assessment and Indoor Air Quality Capabilities to deliver clean, green and LEED certified construction services.
Frank Pelletier
Associate Director, Environmental Assessments & Compliance
Frank has been on the Hygieneering team for about five and a half years. Before working on the compliance team, he was more focused on construction safety.
In 2017, Frank graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Geological Engineering. He then went on to work for a local sanitary district doing lake management. He worked with local stakeholders and regulators to maintain the lake. This included water sampling, operation of the dam, lake level monitoring, and invasive species management.
Travis Fellers, CIH, CSP
Director, Technical Services
Travis began his career with Hygieneering in May of 2014 after receiving his BS in Environmental Health and Safety from Illinois State University. The past 2 years, Travis has focused on his professional development, passing his ASP Exam in June 2019, the CSP Exam in February 2020, and most recently, the CIH Exam in May 2021. Currently, he is enrolled in graduate school at Montana Tech, earning his Masters in Industrial Hygiene and expected to be completed in August 2022.
Mike Bartos, PM/ASP, BI, MP, PD (WI)
Managing Director, Environmental Construction Services
Mr. Bartos has been employed by Hygieneering since 1998 and has over 27 years of environmental safety and health related consulting experience. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987 from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in the area of Biological Sciences and is a State of Illinois Licensed Asbestos Building Inspector, Project Manager, Air Sampling Professional and Management Planner since 1991. Mr. Bartos is also a State of Wisconsin Licensed Project Designer, Supervisor and Building Inspector.
Mr. Bartos’ expertise includes performance and management of toxic substance surveys for asbestos, lead and mold in addition to providing design and management of all levels of environmental remediation projects in the public and private sector. He also specializes in estimating and managing large scale demolition and renovation projects for health care facilities, school buildings and power/industrial plants.
David L. Zeidner, MS, CMR, WRT, LEED AP
Director, Indoor Air Quality & Emergency Response Services
Mr. Zeidner has been employed by Hygieneering since 2006. He has a Master of Science degree and over 12 years of R&D lab experience as well as over 12 years of environmental consulting experience including CAT response work following the 2004 & 2005 gulf state hurricanes.
Mr. Zeidner provides clients with technically superior and timely consulting and testing services. He oversees and conducts Indoor Air Quality Management & Mold Prevention Programs in office buildings, hospital, university dormitories, schools and government buildings. He performs IAQ investigations including sick building & odor issues, designs and manages mold remediation projects and manages emergency flood responses. Mr. Zeidner has provided technical instruction training services on environmental health and safety topics such as IAQ, mold, odor and flood response issues to national groups.
Mr. Zeidner’s expertise in environmental portfolio management includes mold & moisture assessments, odor investigations, indoor air quality assessments and water abatement.
